A Novena to the Holy Spirit is taking place in parishes in the Archdiocese of Dublin from 12 to 20 May 2024. The purpose of the Novena is to provide a period of prayer, reflection and planning for the renewal of the Church as part of the Building Hope Parish Partnership; and you are invited to join in prayer here at each Mass over the nine days of the Novena, commencing Sunday, 12 May.

Parishioners are warmly invited to join once again with every parish in the diocese in a Novena to the Holy Spirit – our dedicated period of prayer, reflection and planning for the renewal of the Church in the Archdiocese of Dublin.
The Novena will take place in the nine days from 12th – 20th May beginning on the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, through Pentecost and continuing to the Feast of Mary, Mother of the Church.
In conjunction with the Novena, on Monday, 13th May at 8pm all are invited to join the Sisters at the Monastery of St Alphonsus in Dublin 9, or via their webcam on www.rednuns.com, as they lead us in prayerful reflections drawn from the Novena Prayer Booklet and including music from the Dublin Diocesan Music Group.
You can download a pdf of The Novena Prayer Booklet here. It contains the Building Hope Novena Prayer, daily scripture, reflections and images which can be used to assist you and focus group reflection.
Let us join together across the Archdiocese, in praying and planning with Archbishop Farrell during this dedicated period 12th – 20th May and build hope for a new future in partnership and a new way of being Church.
Here in our parish, we are in partnership with:
and we have already begun our joint pastoral conversations in our parish partnership.
Pope Francis encourages times of prayerful reflection, listening and sharing, so that we can better hear the voice of God’s Spirit, to help direct the Church into the future. The Novena to the Holy Spirit, which we begin on Sunday 12 May, is a critical part of our Building Hope process of prayerful listening, dialogue and planning.
