Parish of Firhouse / Seeds of Faith

For the attention of parents / guardians of catholic children in 1st Class & 5th Class in the academic year 2026-2027 about Enrolment for First Holy Communion or Confirmation in 2028.

Dear Parents / Guardians,

To facilitate families of catholic children attending a school other than a Catholic School, the Parish of Firhouse, the Parish in which Firhouse Educate Together National School and Gaelscoil na Giúise are situated is offering the parents / guardians / families the opportunity to prepare for the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation in 2028.

The preparation is called the ‘Seeds of Faith’, which is the Diocese of Dublin’s approved preparation, which consists of the child attending in-person after school classes of 28 weeks per year for two years for each of these sacraments. The ‘Seeds of Faith’ Classes should be seen to be of equal importance as any other subject covered in an academic school year. Obviously, as with any other after school activity, there is a payment, which is €140 per year for one child attending or €240 per year for two children or more from the same family attending any ‘Seeds of Faith’ Classes, payment being made by Friday 4th September 2026. You can make payment electronically with the Payzone link below or in person with card / cash at the Parish Office (normally open Monday to Friday 9.30 am – 4 pm).

The classes will be in Scoil Treasa on Ballycullen Avenue (D24 E985), and will begin for First Holy Communion classes on Wednesday 9th September 2026 at 3.15 – 4.10 pm, and for the Sacrament of Confirmation classes on Thursday 10th September 2026 at 3.15 – 4.10 pm.
