The text for the Stations of the Cross is taken from a book published by Columba
Press in 2001 for the Parish of Firhouse. This book is now out of print. The words were written for the Parish by Desmond Forristal.
Copyright of the booked is owned by The Parish of Firhouse.
On the back cover Imogen Stuart wrote the following,
‘My idea is to give the impression that I was in possession of the actual cross on which Our Lord was crucified and that I cut and carved these fourteen stations from it.
At the beginning I help the viewer to recognise each station, but after the third they have
to walk them alone, without help.
My purpose is to help the praying person to look at the stations in a
fresh light and meditate on the mysteries presented.’
We, in the Parish of Firhouse, hope that you will enjoy meditating on the Stations of the Cross
as now presented. Our Church is open on Sundays until approximately 1pm and on weekdays
following 10am Mass for a short time. You are invited to visit our Church,
at these times, to view the Stations should you so wish. |
